For many digital printers calculating costs for a job can be a headache. With wastage, margins, labour and machine running costs to consider, quoting can take far too long and become extremely complicated, running the risk of undercharging for a job.

Despite the current recession, Digital Print seems to be booming in the UK. We are always keen to know how our customers are benefitting from Clarity Professional and if there are any ways in which we can improve the software to meet their needs. As the demand for Digital Print increases so does the demand for software that can cope with the speed at which our customers need to work. We are constantly developing Clarity and have recently added many new features to the Digital Print Calculators, making them even more powerful and efficient for the user.
We believe that the improvements we have made to this part of the software will enhance the speed at which digital printers can quote and work. Users can now accurately calculate materials based on the size of the graphics and how much wastage there will be. The Calculation tools will also decide on the best fit for the graphics when printing and give an extremely accurate costing and profit. This information can then be pulled through the software to Production.

There is always the ongoing debate within business as to whether CRM is worthwhile investing in or just an expensive tool that companies can simply do without. Small businesses can often feel daunted by taking on software, not only because of the initial or ongoing costs, but the change in business processes and mindset. From speaking to many clients we are only too aware that as a business grows it becomes increasingly more important to streamline your business activity to maintain long lasting customer relationships and lighten the admin load. Afterall we are all in business to make money not spend our time filing, re-writing quotations and scratching our heads trying to work out if what we are doing is profitable.
Back in December 2008 we interviewed a Clarity Professional user for our newsletter. Award winning Sign Company, Sign Box had tried various business software to provide management and accounting solutions but found that staff were constantly duplicating information and needed a more efficient approach. When referring to Clarity Mark Bartlett, Managing Director stated “The ability to track an enquiry to order, through production to delivery and onto invoice, an all in one system has proved an invaluable tool.”
